Weekend fun!

This weekend was to be an uneventful one, but it turned out to be fun! I've had my typical 3 -4 time a year sinus infection to deal with, but you MOM's know....nothing stops us!

Friday night, Jerry & I got to have a night out (thanks to Uncle Lumpy) with Dale & Amy...Dale has watched Emma 2 Fridays in a row, and we hadn't done anything for both of their b-days, so we headed to the Elks for supper. It was yummy as always.

Saturday, I volunteered to help with tours of the Fire Museum at work, while the Wheels & Wings activities went on. It was pretty fun, lots of people were very amazed at the museum we have here in town. Jerry left me a v-mail to head to Dan & Danni's for lunch & to watch the game. We ate, then it was half-time. We were all sitting there talking (my kids & Haley were out front playing) when all of a sudden we here a loud crash! We all jump up run outside...Andy yells "GET THE KIDS IN THE HOUSE" and the guys run down the road. Here a car had ran the stop sign and plowed into another car. The one car did a couple of donuts after it was hit and hit a parked car and tossed it into the yard! Too much excitement for me!! The kids sure got a kick out of it!!! Laine wanted to call all her friends and tell them about it! (And people wonder how rumors get started!)

After all that commotion, and a Buckeye Victory, the girls and I came home. I took some medicine and laid down with Emma and get this--I took a NAP!!! It felt soooo good! Then we ordered a pizza and watched tv. Jerry and I watched one of his favorite movies "Vision Quest".

Sunday we got up and got ready for a trip to the Ft. Wayne Zoo! Amy, Danni & I decided Saturday that we should do something with the kids and the zoo is what we came up with.
It was the most perfect day for the zoo. It was warm enough not to need jackets, but cool enough we were never sweating! We got there around 10:00 and were heading out around 1:00...I think. We were home by 2:30. Perfect for the littler ones...they could still get their naps. We had a fun time! The only thing that was bad was how they had the one area set up. You walk out of a building right into the Carosuel! All of our kids were throwing a fit because of course they want to ride it. But, we had already let them ride the boat ride and we all agreed only 1 ride today. Other than that it was fun.
I almost forgot...I took the girls out to DQ for ice cream tonight and then we headed out to Dale & Amy's house. The 4 of us (around the girls) played a game of cornhole and guess who won? Dale & me!!!! Yeah....must have been beginners luck, b/c I've never played before. I'll probably never win again, so I had to brag!!!! ;)
I got to see Uncle Alberts old truck he has been working on....it is SWEET! Great work, Uncle Al!!!!
Also, as I told him tonight....HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!!! I heard it was the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!! :)
Hope you all have a great week!! Here are a few of the pics from today.

More Volleyball and Farmin'

Here we are almost at the end of another week....I think we'll make it!

Work has been busy, but lots of fun like always...I've been working on a couple different things, which keeps it interesting!
Monday, Grace found out that there are only about 8 kids on her v-ball team so they won't actually play games, they will just have clinics/practices every Monday night. They did get t-shirts though. I'll try to take some pics next week of her "team."
Laine's team had their 1st game on Monday night. They won the 1st game, then lost the last two by the scoreboard, but they did great! Especially, compared to the games last year!

Laine got almost all of her serves over the net...I was very proud...last year I think she got 1 or 2 serves over all year! She even got to pass a couple times and she got it over then too! She had a great game and the parents are all very supportive on her team...I'm very thankful for that! The parents all clap for the team and always give them a "good try" or "you're doing great" that is always nice to hear, as a parent and as a kid!

On the way home from the game, I asked the girls if they had a good time. They both said they had fun. I was very glad to hear that! Then Laine said something and I thought she said, she was bored playing volleyball. So to that I said, "I thought you said you had fun." She said, "Ya I did...Mom, I was born to play volleyball." Can you believe that!! I about died! She was soooo serious when she said it. I laugh everytime I think about it! Kids, say the darnest things!

Changing gears, the 3 baby cows have been brought out here with the other cows...they seem to get along pretty well, for the moo-st part! ;) They are all pretty neat to watch, if you haven't been around them much before. Emma loves to hang out with the cows. She even likes to go into the pasture with them (as long as an adult is with her).
Wednesday night they bailed hay for the last time this year. Which for Jerry's sake is good. This week farming has been dangerous for him. Monday he came home and said the hay bind fell and landed right on his left foot....all the guys that were there couldn't get it picked up off his foot. His dad had to get the backhoe to lift it up. He of course would not go to the hospital/dr. to see if it is broke or smashed. The only good thing is with his work boots it is ok for him to get around on it through the day, but as soon as he takes them off...it swells right up! Now it is getting a really colorful look to it, see...

Then Tuesday night they cut they cut the hay and tried to bail a couple and Jerry pulled one of the bails up on the trailer and his foot fell right throught the trailer. It was the same foot, but luckily he wasn't hurt. We all just started laughing.....just his luck!

Bailing went pretty well on Wed. night. They got it all finished and I think Emma and Grace had just as much fun as the guys did. (Laine was at church while this all took place)

Well, I need to go...starting to get a sore throat, so better get some meds and hit the sack early!

Keep posting on your sites and leave some comments on mine....as Laine says, "Mom, your addicted to those blogs!" ....I think she might be right! :)

Another busy week!

This week has again been busy! I guess that will be our normal from now on, that's what happens when you have 3 girls!

Laine & Grace started the week out with a volleyball clinic up at the YM on Monday. They learned a lot about the basics...hopefully they continue to learn and I hope they like it.

Then Tuesday, Emma & I went to school, she once again had a blast and did well for the teachers...I'm not quite getting the same cooperation at home. At least with her speech, now with potty training that is a different story! She is doing so much better...We aren't there yet, but at least we are sitting on the potty now for almost all of our #1's...unless we get busy and forget. But I'm still glad she is finally trying and is proud of herself. Also, Laine had Roadrunners right after school, I almost forgot.
Em-sitting on her potty watching cartoons.
Wednesday was our free evening! Laine & Grace requested we go to the reservoir, so we packed up their bikes and Em's stroller and went for a long walk around the new one. We had fun! Then since we burnt some calories we went out for some frozen custard! What a treat!

Thursday night, Laine had volleyball practice after she had her Road Runners. She was a bit tired, but she was doing great with getting her serves over! She was trying to get me to pay her for each one she got over....Not going to start that, yet! :)

Friday night we ran over to K-mart...b/c I hate our Wal-mart and ate at Arnolds an old 50's diner type restaurant. The girls loved their milkshakes!!! Me too for that matter!!! Then we took Jerry, Dan, Andy and Dale Dominoes pizza for supper.

Saturday I took the girls and Danni & Miss Haley over to Aunt Trisha's house for a couple garage sales and to go to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. The kids were great! We had fun saw a lot of neat things and ate some very yummy apple crisps! Wow! I've missed those.

Today the pigs were loaded to take to the butcher tomorrow....it was a slow long process, but finally all 5 were loaded, cleaned and watered. Emma loved watching them, but now she really likes the cows more, so I guess that is good since the piggies are gone!
Well, I need to go...I'll post more soon! Have a wonderful week!!!

Preschool, volleyball and babies...Oh My!

This week was a week of firsts! Emma got to go to her first evening of Preschool this week. Actually, it isn't officially preschool it is Early Intervention (E.I.) out at Thomas Edison. Emma is going for speech, but it is good for social skills, gross and fine motor skills and other educational things. (I'm so technical I know) I get to go with her...she goes once a week from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. This week she had a great time! She even learned how to sign the words "more, please and done" she was very proud of herself, as was I! The idea to signing is that once they realize they get reaction from the signs, then they will try using the words, because everytime we sign we still speak the words. She has been using her signs at home...she is even now using the sounds mmm, and ooh. We have a long way to go, but it is a start. She even made new friends and gets to play with lots of new toys. I took a picture before we went in, but didn't take any inside...I'll try to take some next week to post. They are too cute in class!
Laine started volleyball this week. I forgot to take pictures, so I'll have to post some of those later. She did a good job, but was getting tired. She had had Roadrunners (a running/fitness program) right after school then I picked her up and took her directly to v-ball practice. She is enjoying Roadrunners (which I hoped she would, but wasn't sure) I'm glad to see her starting to get involved. I didn't want to push her into things, but at the same time I want her to get involved...she is growing up so fast!
Oh how I love babies...I got to hold an 18 hour hold baby today!!! My friend, Nikki from work had her baby last night. My break group went together and got some cute boy baby outfits and took them up to Mom, Dad & Baby today at lunch. It was sooo much fun and he is sooo adorable! You forget how small they are when they are born! Here is a picture of the adorable little man!!!

Well, I hope you all are planning on rooting on the Buckeyes! Sounds like they are going to have a big fight on their hands against USC. It sounds like Beanie won't be playing again, so yell loud and cheer them on! Go BUCKS! The Cougs are in a fight tonight I'm off to find it on the radio..Go Cougs!

Our Recap of the Fair 2008

Well we made it to the end of the fair and we still have enought money left for school lunches! I'm impressed. I felt like I just kept handing out money. Yes, I know it is my own fault for going so much, but the fair only comes once a year, the kids LOVE it and we don't go on a vacation, so this is a way of making up for it. Besides...I do love the food! Jerry is not a big fair fan, but he did come out and sit at the camper a few times and then for the races (which were very slim)...but still fun! The girls and I spent the night 2 nights and were at the fair everyday except for Wednesday, which the girls were not happy about. We had lots of fun, lots of hot days and the girls won some fish (which all died by Thursday). There are many things I didn't like about the fair this year, like stating rides start at a certain time (in the fair guide) but not really opening for an hour and 15 minutes later. Also, taking 2 of the most popurlar rides down Tuesday morning, but overall I think we all had a good time. (But I am glad it is over!!) Enjoy all the pics!

Great news, both the Cougars and the Buckeyes were victorious again this weekend!!!!
