Upward Stars Cheerleading 2010

Grace enjoyed another year of cheerleading for both boys and girls games on Saturdays this winter. She knows her moves and the chants, but sometimes she just forgets to smile with all that other stuff to remember! It is fun to watch her and her squad up there on the stage!

Here is most of her squad...they were all such sweet gals. I knew most of their parents...too funny.

I must say Upward really is a great program! I'm glad that my girls have been involved. They are making friends with kids from schools all over the area, learning skills in their sport, and most importantly learning a lot about themselves and getting scripture lessons as well....helping to shape their young lives.

As much as I love this program, I must say I am glad it is over for this year...bad mom I know, but we'll get to do it again and again....Emma hasn't even begun yet! :)

The 2010 Lady Tarheels

Can you believe 2 posts in 2 days! I know...we were so preoccupied with the house that my blogging had to suffer. Hopefully, I can get back on track. So for a few posts we will be going slightly back in time to tell you of our lives...exciting or not!

So this post is all about Laine and her Upward basketball season! She did a great job this year! She has started to really figure out the game and is loving it! We still need to work on some things but things really start to click!

Here she is receiving a pass from her teammate and buddy Cassidy. Cassidy was the quick, spunky, scrappy ball player...so fun to watch these two in action.

Here Laine is taking and making a shot! Yes I did catch one...she made quite a few points each game.

And here she is being announced before the game...this was her FAVORITE part! Just kidding...she actually disliked this part and wished she didn't have to be announced. I still think it is really cool!

I'm excited to watch her play again next year...we are even talking about getting a hoop up this year for her. Anyone for a game of PIG?!?

They have rooms!!!!

The girls have rooms! They and we are so excited. Jerry and the guys did a fan-tabulous job!
We are so very grateful to have such wonderful friends and family to help us in this project! If it weren't for the guys - Andy, Uncle Bones, Dale, and Dan this would still be a work in progress and Jerry and I would be at each others throats! :) Also, we want to thank Dave (David) Fast for doing all the flooring so quickly. The girls couldn't wait for him to come as they knew that was the last step in the process! I couldn't get the pics to post in the order I wanted so here they are in no particular order. (I guess that is what I get for not posting for so long)

The girls have been sleeping in their rooms since Dave left Wednesday night. We decorated Saturday all day. They and we are very pleased how well they turned out! Thanks again everyone that helped us! We couldn't have done it without you!

I have many more items to post about our life the last month, but that will have to come later...
